Dirt n Disneyland

I just wanted to update everyone on what we have been up to lately. Jeremy finished his midterms and we have actually been able to hang out again. He is such a pro at planning little things for us to do during the week to make my work week a little more bare-able. Two weeks ago on Thursday night we went to the Fullerton Market. There is a live band every week and tons of booths set up with things to eat as well as crafts and even fresh produce. We picked up some tacos and got some fresh hot kettle corn for dessert! The market will be there every Thursday until October so if you are local you should check it out. It kind of gives you a small town feel.
Here is Jeremy amongst the crowd enjoying some fresh squeezed watermellon juice. Doesn't he look excited.....

Last Thursday night we went to Disneyland! It was the perfect night to go because there was hardly anyone there. Ofcourse there were crowds, it's Disneyland, but we walked on every ride we wanted to go on. It was awesome! We went on a few of Jeremy's favorite rides this time like Splash Mountain, Thunder Mountain, etc... and we went on them over and over again.

Here we are soaked after going on Splash Mountain for like the 4th time. Jeremy wore khaki shorts...we got drenched...they got wet...khaki shorts and water all over them...think about it! lol

Finally we are to the "Dirt"part of my post. On Saturday we drove out to the desert with Jeremy's parents to ride their quads. We had so much fun! The weather was nice and we had a blast getting dirty. Jeremy and I took the rhino out to climb some hills. There was one hill that was super steep that of course Jeremy wanted to conquer. We got about 3/4 of the way up of what I thought was a vertical slope and I though we were going to tip over backwards! I wish i had my video camera. Luckily Jeremy was able to get the front wheels back down to get more traction and we made it to the top.

Lastly, On Sunday we were able to spend the day with my youngest brother Reed on his birthday. We enjoyed some delicious bbq and had strawberry short cake for dessert. Good choice on the grub Reed. Reed continues to grow up so fast I can hardly believe it and he is now way taller than me. We love Reed so much and our family wouldn't be the same with out him!

Ashley's Shower

My very close friend Ashley is having a baby girl and is due on May 21st. I decided I would try and make her a baby blanket. This is the first thing I have sewn since I was about 12 years old. Needless to say it didn't turn out all that bad. Looking at the final product I decided I should have incorporated more pink on the back side, but oh well . I still think it turned out pretty good for a first time job and Ashley loved it. She is so creative and crafty! I have much to learn from her. Below are some pics from the shower.

Jacob loves to brush his teeth! It is the cutest thing ever when he asks Ashley if he can brush his teeth. What a good habit for a two year old to have! Lucky mom. If you look closely you can see pink around Jacobs mouth. He would eat all the frosting off the cute cupcakes then pass the cake part to mom. Sounds like a good tag team to me.

Holy Cow...I mean Holy Jim Canyon!

For a while now Jeremy has been wanting to go on a hike. He checked out a few around here and found one of the most popular hikes in Orange County. It's about a 3 mile hike into Holy Jim Canyon that follows a creek all the way up to a small waterfall. We went with some friends of ours, the Garcia's, on Saturday morning and hiked up to the waterfall. The hike had all sorts of terrain and was fun because we had to cross the creek several times. It was a beautiful day for a hike. What was not so great were my allergies that bugged me most of the day! Jeremy trying to pust me into the creek.

NCAA March Madness in Anaheim

My dad and uncle Rick decided at the last minute that it would be fun to go to the NCAA Tournament and see some of their favorate teams play(BYU and UCLA). It had been a while since they both had gone to a game and my uncle Rick needed something to boost his spirit. Lucky for us my dad bought enough tickets for the whole famliy to go. The "kids seats" were 6 rows from the court and the parents were a couple rows ahead. We saw BYU play Texas A&M and then the UCLA-Mississippi Valley St. game. There was so much energy in the Honda center and we all had a really great time.

Being so close to the action Jeremy was way excited!

Thank you mom and dad for the great night!

That time of year again...

Girl Scout Cookies!!! Yum!!! When I came home for lunch today, much to my surprise, there was a box of Carmel Delites aka Samoas on our kitchen counter!!! I was really surprised! I had no idea it was that time of year again. We haven't had any Girl Scouts knocking on our appartment door selling cookies nor have we seen any for sale lately outside of local stores...... Jeremy was going to a meeting on campus yesterday and saw a mom with her girls setting up shop in a common area so he dropped the dough (4$ a box but its still a steal) and got us some. We have to find some more so I hope we run into another girl scout soon! Now it seems the girls get their parents to take the order form to work or school so they can sell a million so they get one cheap prize. Anyways, Jeremy had also put a box of Thin Mints in the freezer. Jeremy and I actually have a rule about Thin Mints. He gets on row and I get one row. If we don't do this they will be all gone in like 2 minutes! Well maybe not that fast, but he will eat his side in about two days and I like to savor mine. These are the best store bought cookies ever!!! I'm all about the home made stuff but there is something different about these Girl Scout Cookies. I just thought I would share the highlight of my day with you.

7 Random Facts...

THE RULES:
1. Once you are tagged, link back to the person who tagged you.
2. Post THE RULES on your blog.
3. Post 7 weird or random facts about yourself on your blog.
4. Tag 7 people and link to them.
5. Comment on their blog to let them know they have been tagged.

  • When I get stressed out or mad I start cleaning. I have always been like this. When I was in high school and college before I could study I would have to make sure my room was clean and everything was picked up. I think maybe because for me to be 100% focused on studying I couldn't have any distractions. I don't know, kinda weird. Even to this day, if I am stressed out about something or angry I start cleaning. Jeremy thinks it's kinda funny because he will just sit there and watch me.

  • I can make a really high pitch sound when I am excited (which is sometimes annoying), and I get excited pretty easily. This is why my husband loves to surprise me because it makes him happy :) Not the fact that I can be loud, just the fact that he knows I really appreciate it and it's fun to watch me get excited.

  • I am hilarious (or annoying) to watch at the movies. I have a reaction for everything.

  • I am pretty emotional. I guess I get it fom my mom. If you know her you can understand why. I cry when I see other people cry. Whether it be because they are happy or sad, I will join right in. Jeremy sometimes teases me for this but I just tell him I am closer to the spirit than he is. jk ;)

  • I have a very expensive mouth. My dentist said for me to expect to pay every 15 years the amount of a nice used car. Holy cow!! This is not because I do not take care of my teeth. I actually brush and floss more than the average person. I had some bad dental work done at a young age and now I'm paying for it to be re-done. The good news is now I have an awesome dentist that I love and trust. Jeremy better get a good job or I'm going to have to get a part time job at a dental office.

  • The nick-name my dad always called me growing up was "Vavoom!" because sometimes I can be the loudest person in the room. My mom would always tell me I need to use my indoor voice.

  • I was a Kinesiology major in college but since I have graduated I have not worked in that field at all. Kinda sad :(

So there you have it! I'll try to find people that have not been tagged in a while to spread the love. I tag: Ashley Lindahl, Katrina, Trudy, Kendra, Angie, Laura, and JoEllen.
