The Love Tag...

Because Valentine's Day is coming up I thought it would be fun to do the "Love Tag"

1. Where did you meet your husband?

Jeremy and I first met at the Placentia 4th Ward "Linger Longer". Go ahead and laugh. I moved to Fullerton to go to school and in the mean time became friends with all of Jeremy's friends while he was on his mission. They would talk about him sometimes but I didn't pay any attention. He had been home from his mission about a month and I had been meaning to introduce myself because I thought he was really cute. On Sunday at Linger Longer he was sitting down at the table eating with the guys and I noticed an open seat next to him. Boldly I went and sat down and started talking with everyone. We started chatting and it felt totally normal and we we became friends right off the bat.

2. What was the first thing he said to you?

I don't remember, but probably something like, "Hi, I'm Jeremy." The first thing I noticed about him was his funny personality and how he got along with everybody.

3. When was your first date?

Ahhh... the first date. Sadly I can't really remember. We were friends for a while and then started to like each other (well we liked each other the whole time but then finally admitted it). I remember the first time I invited him over for dinner. I told him that Ashley (my roomate) and I were cooking dinner for FHE and that he was invited if he wanted to come. He said yes; so then I called Ashley and told her we needed to cook dinner and that she needed to call Blake (her boyfriend, also Jeremy's friend) and tell him he was coming over for dinner. haha. So everything worked out and it was great. I think we ended up going to the movies after or something.

4. When was your first kiss?

On his door step. We had gone to get some hot chocolate with some friends of ours (Ashley & Blake). Ashley drove us and we dropped Jeremy off at his house. When Jeremy got out of the car Blake said, "What are you doing? Go walk him to the door and give him a hug!" So I got out of the car and ran up to his porch and just caught him before he went inside. I don't remember saying anything. All of a sudden he leaned in and kissed me. I promise, I just wanted a hug, but I guess he had other things in mind. ;)

5. Long/short courtship/engagement?

Jeremy and I started "dating" in March of 05'. We were engaged on February 21, 2006 (ya, the week after Valentine's Day). When Jeremy proposed to me I was totally surprised! It was Monday and I was on my way over to his house after work to have dinner with his family. I almost didn't go because I wasn't feeling well and it had been a long day. After talking to him I could tell that he was really excited to see me so I decided I would stop by. When I got there I opened the door and let myself in. The lights were off and I noticed the hallway was lined with lit candles and rose petals and daisies! There Jeremy was standing at the end of the hallway in nice suite and tie. I was so surprised! I kind of just stood by the door in shock and then he told me to come over to him. So he said a few words (and made me cry) and got down on one knee and proposed!!! I was so happy! Then he had dinner ready and we ate Subway sandwiches by candle light. It was really cute. I guess he had a different proposal planned for that weekend but he was so excited he couldn't wait. Then later that night his family came home from wherever they were and congratulated us.

6. When did you get married?

We were married at 12 noon in the San Diego temple on October 7, 2006. It was the best day of my life. I remember being so excited and so happy! Everything went perfect. Well... I remember Jeremy being a little late because he rode up with some buddies and I guess they had to make a stop for him to go to the bathroom. The story goes that he got off at some random exit and figured there would be some place to "go" but all there was were houses everywhere and nothing else so they finally found a city park! He told me there were the two cars in the wagon train screaching tires/speeding all over trying to find a place with a bathroom! Boys!

7. Where did you honeymoon?

Because Jeremy was in the middle of the semester we couldn't be gone long. Jeremy surprised me and booked us 3 nights at Casa Laguna Inn, the cutest bed and breakfast in Laguna Beach, CA. It was perfect. We had a room with a balcony that faced the ocean.

If you read this consider yourself tagged! I think it's fun to see how everyone met.

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

The Malibu Hopper!

As many of you know I have been riding my bike to work lately. When Jeremy and I were in St. George this past fall we were givn the "Malibu Hopper" from his aunt Lee. No joke it really says Malibu Hopper on the side of the bike. It was Jeremy's uncles bike and he had passed away and it was just sitting in the garage collecting dust. We were very greatful to take the bike home with us. Now instead of walking I have the option to ride my bike to work. Now the bike we have doesn't look like the picture above. It is blue, has a wool seat, and is probably 20+ yeas old. But it works for my short mile ride to work and back. There are some pros and cons to riding the hopper. I like the fact that I can get to work in 7 minutes. I also love that I am helping the environment by not using a car. It was really surprising to me how fun it is to ride a bike. It had been forever since I had been on a bike and I look forward to my morning ride. However, I don't like how cold it is in the morning with the wind blowing in my face. Walking in the cold isn't a problem because I didn't have the wind blowing. On cold days when I ride my bike my face freezes and my hands are numb; but I have discovered to wear gloves and that helps. I guess I'm spoiled because really, how cold does it get in Southern California? I also don't like the fact that whatever I decide to wear to work I have to plan on being able to ride a bike in it. Luckily my job has a casual dress so it's not that big of a deal.
I think I'm lucky to live in such nice weather and that I live close enough to walk or ride my bike to work. So if you see me riding down State College Blvd. between the hours of 7:50 and 5, feel free to honk or say hi! Hopefully I won't crash in the mean time.

Welcome Home Elder Poole!!!

On Monday my brother Shane came home from his mission in Harrisburg, PA! We were all able to be at the airport to pick him up. Thanks to all the aunts, uncles, and cousins, and gramps, we had a pretty big crowd waiting. Holding signs that say, "Welcome home Elder Poole" might be accepted a little more in Utah than California. We had some people give us some weird looks, but for the most part everyone was smiling. We are so excited to have Shane home. He adds so much fun and personality to our family. I am excited for him to start this next part of his life!

Well yesterday was Jeremy's 24th b-day!!! I made his FAVORITE dessert "Rocky Road". If you have never tried it we will have to have you over for some. His mom usually makes it for him but this year I made it!!! It is angel food cake, choc. chips, whipped cream, and some other secret ingredients. It is really not as easy as it sounds, but that is another story...

Happy Birthday x 4!!!

On Sunday night we had a dinner to celebrate FOUR of the Murdock's birthdays. Lacey's birthday is on the 16th, Mary's is on the 18th, and Scott and Jeremy's birthday is on the 19th (no they are not twins, just exactly one year apart!). This year everyone is going away for Thanksgiving so we got together before to celebrate early. Sheri made a delicious meal which consisted of chicken (really good but I don't know what it was called), rice, cezar salad, orange serbert jello salad, steamed carrots and rolls. We topped it off a cake (for the boys) and pumpkin chiffon pie! It was delicious!

Jeremy is getting some quality time with his nephew Travis.

Me and Travis in his cute Sunday outfit.

Travis bonding with the boys watching sports.
We sang happy birthday to all of them!

Travis LOVES anything that lights up or makes noise. We thought it would be fun to see how he reacted to the lights on the Christmas tree. As you can tell, we didn't get much of a reaction out of him. I think it was because it was kind of late and he was pretty tired. It will be fun to see how he reacts to the train that goes around the tree when we get that set up!

This is Mary holding her baby.

I almost forgot to add the pics from Halloween!!! Travis was a cow. Doesn't he look so cute!

Again, it was pretty late and we couldn't get many smiles out of Travis. I don't know why we always take pictures late at night. He is really active and smily during the day.
