Beach day!

Well it was a sad day at The Lending Connection on Friday. That's where I work, or used to work. The owners gathered us all together and announced that after 13 years they would be closing their doors. The mortgage industry is just a bear right now and they tried everything they could do to save the company but they couldn't. Most of our staff was let go on Friday except a slim few to help clean up and finish funding the rest of the loans for the month. I am one of the few who gets to stay until the end of August, if I want. So at least I have a little time to search for a job. So if anyone has any leads for me, please let us know. Even though I complained about my job most of the time it was a good job in the sense that I was able to support Jeremy and I allowing him to go to school. Hopefull I will be able to find something new that will give us the same support/benefits as before. But on a lighter note... We were able to kick off our weekend with a fun start by heading down to Hunnington Beach for a beach party and bond fire with my Dad's side of the family!!! The weather was awesome and the kids were still swimming in the ocean at 6pm! Later we roasted hot dogs and had my mom's famous pasta salad, watermellon, and other snacks. What more could we need?
Cambria and Parker had fun building a sand castle... until the boy's of the family next to us ran through it ruining most of it...oh well, start again!!
Christie and her friend Heather (on the left) Me and McKenna in the middle, and Cambria and Jeremy on the far right. Cambria loves her cousin Jeremy! Just relaxing after a game of football. The in-laws side won! (I did play on the in-laws side even though I am not one. ) We rocked!!! All the hard work of Jeremy training me paid off!
Lucy is visiting from England! She is staying with her grandmother Pam (my Grandpa's friend) She is the sweetest thing ever!! And we all loved her adorable accent! Parker and uncle Gary (on the right)!! (Mom and uncle Arch in the backround)
Me and my sweet husband Jeremy. I must say that a windy and sunny day at the beach does not do much for the hair! haha... but we had an awesome time! We ended the night with roasting marshmallows and making smores!!! Yum! I only had one this time unlike last week when I had about 3-4. I think I was just a little too excited but my stomach caught up with me. I knew better this time :)

Fun in the sun!

We have had a pretty fun weekend starting on Thursay night. Jeremy and I met some of my extended family/parents down at Huntington beach for a bond fire. We roasted hot dogs and did the whole junk food thing and ended with smores! Yum! It was such a beautiful night with a georgeous sunset. Next Friday my Dads side of the family is all getting together in Huntington to do the same thing. It should be tons of fun, even for Jeremy. Jeremy can throw small children around the sand, splash water on unassuming family members and chat it up with his buddy Arch (my uncle).

Saturday morning we woke up at 5am to get ready to leave for the lake with the Sanders family! I am not really a morning person, but when there is something fun to do I am all about it. We drove to Lake Perris which was about 40 mins away! We were on the water at about 7:30 and stayed until about 1pm.
Here is Jeremy and I on the tube! Lance pulled us pretty fast and I must admit that I had some pretty hard falls. It was hilarious and I was laughing the whole time!!! It was so much fun. The water felt so good and it was a really warm day.

When we got home we were both exhausted and we just crashed all afternoon and had to get up and get pretty for another wedding reception(#2 for the weekend for us). The reception was good to see and talk to old friends and relatives (mostly from Jeremy's home ward) and Jeremy had a chance to learn more about Nashville since thats where I guess were going to end up someday >?? lol jk. Anyways, it was a great weekend and we want to say THANK YOU to the SANDERS Family for having us out there with them Saturday.

Can't get enough!

We just can't get enough of our cute little nephew Travis! We are so lucky that Scott and Mary are so close so we can see them a lot. We had family dinner on Sunday and were all able to hold Travis for a really long time. He had a few blow outs but Mary took care of that right away. Thank goodness for moms! He likes it when you lift him up and down. It helps calm him down when he is crying. He is growing so fast. He is already 3 weeks old and he looks like he is getting longer. I wish they could stay little forever but it is fun when they get older so you can play with them a little more.

Happy birthday Mom!!!

June 29th was my mom's 5_th b-day! It was so much fun to be able to spend her birthday with her. We all went out to Lucille's Bbbq! Yum!!! If you have not eaten there and you love bbq you are missing out. I ordered the baby back ribs (half rack of course) and Jeremy got the tri-tip. They also have the best strawberry lemonade served in big jars. At the end of dinner our server brought out an ice-cream sunday for my mom. I have to admit it was pretty weak. There wasn't even any chocolate fudge on it! Come on! And when she dropped the ice-cream off they didn't even sing. So as we were leaving the restauraunt my dad, uncle and cousins started singing "Happy Birthday"and everyone in the place joined in. It was so funny. My mom was pretty embarassed. Then at the end of the song my cousin screamed her age which was pretty funny.
Happy birthday mom!!! I love you!!! Here are some fun facts about my mom : she is a mother of 3, 2 boys and me! She teaches kindergarten and was named teacher of the year this year! She is very funny and makes everyone crack up with her accidental humor. She is the gospel doctrine teacher in her ward. She has a son on a mission who she can't stop talking about. She loves the outdoors and walking for exercise. She is a great hostess and loves throwing parties and goes out of her way to make sure everyone is taken care. She has always been very supportive of me and all my dreams. She is the most loving and caring person ever! I love you Mom!!!

Congrats Grad!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS to my youngest brother Reed for graduating from high school!!! You did it!! I can't believe that this day has come. It seems like yesterday that I graduated. It was nice to go back to my high school and see how much it has changed. I was the first graduating class in 02 and the school was not completely finished. Now they have an amazing football statium and a swimming pool. I know it is normal to have all of those things but when I went there we didn't have any of them. Now it has been five years since I graduated. Wow! That went by pretty fast. Congrat's Reed!! We love you!!!

Updated pics of Travis and the 3 hour tour we DIDNT plan on...

FYI this is Travis' uncle Jeremy posting and updating this "blog" of ours....brieann has been under the weather lately, and this weekend has been very.....interesting.... We had a shopping spree letdown, a 3 hour tour, a flat tire, and even BEES in our APARTMENT!!!! Friday I met Brie at her work which is right next to South Coast Plaza and we went looking for dresses/stuff for her basically. I go along as her official fashion guru/consultant. We scoured the mall, and found some real good stuff but in the end NOTHING would FIT MODESTLY!!!! I feel bad for girls now, really, I have learned how freaking tough and frustrating it is to look for good clothes and then to find good clothes that fit modestly..... Especially when you are tall.

Saturday we went to Moorpark, which is a really nice place with really nice family (brieanns aunt/uncle/cute cousins live there). We took Gramps with us and met the whole side of that family out at the house to have a pool party/bbq with all the cousins/fam. Because of traffic it took us 3 hrs 15 mins (not that i was counting from the oven aka the backseat of our car). I learned extreme patience and more love for my dear family in moorpark....i love those kids...i hate that drive...!!!!
Cambria and Parker...Two of the cute little rascals... Our camra died so we didn't get to many pics that day. Their dog Bower.... Jack Bower. Gotta love that sweater! hahaha...

Sunday morning I woke up to find a screw in my tire, and then sunday afternoon Brieann sees 2 bees inside the apartment......hours later she discovers 4 or 5 MORE bees all over our apartment! So the maintenance guy comes out to check it out, thank goodness I speak spanish because I was not understanding a word he was saying and he was not getting the problem we had! Check this out...he puts a plastic grocery bag over his head, adds some goggles over his eyes, and takes a bee-killing spray downstairs and finds bees swarming around the stairs and starts yelling to get in your car and to get away from the bees!!! lol it was hilarious!!!! this guy looked so funny....it was like he was saving our lives or something......but he was a nice guy and were grateful he helped us out.

6 months and counting...

On the 18th it will be officially 6 months until my little brother returns from his mission in Harrisburg, PA! Wow, I can't believe how fast the time has gone by. I'm not sure if it has gone by faster for him or our family. He has been doing so great out there and we are all very proud of him. He is such a great example to our family of service and charity. We love you Elder Poole!!!This is an old pic of me and Shane from X-mas 05. Love ya bro!

These are some pics of him with his mission president and his wife and one of his comps. I guess I need to get some more recent pics! But look how much he has changed! He acutally looks like an Elder! Who would have thought! jk. He is looking a little chubby in his pic :) Must be the good food out there.
