Blizzard 2010

This past week we had our first blizzard experience........ofcourse we move out here and our first winter they have their 1st blizzard since 1996! We got about 6" a week ago Saturday, the day after we moved into our new place (First image below is our new view off our patio). Then on Tuesday night it started snowing again and they expected winds 30-45 mph with blowing heavy snow until Wednesday night.....and they were right. We got around 20 inches of new snow Tuesday night through Wednesday night....we had whiteout conditions so they closed all roads to non-essential traffic, meaning work was closed for a snow emergency! So I (yes its Jeremy blogging this time) got to have a day off which mean lounging around in PJ's with my 2 favorite people and playing out in the snow! We got Brieann's snowboard out of storage so I could pull her down the parking lot streets of our complex on it which was quite a workout for me and a lot of fun for my wife! So the storm wasn't so bad, I got to stay home for a day and a half from work while the storm passed and they worked to clear the roads. Driving by parking lots and seeing 15-20 foot high snow piles stacked up is quite a sight to see for someone who never saw much snow in his life...let alone live in it......This snow will probably be around for awhile since it is soooooo cold the snow will not melt for a few months or until a warm streak hits the area. This storm gave me plenty of exercise, over 2.5 hours over 2 days of shoveling snow and clearing out both our cars....what a mess! Anyways, that was this past weeks adventure. More adventures to come!

Our Christmas in California

We spent Christmas Eve with the Murdocks and Christmas day with both of our families. We had so much fun being together and visiting. It took Kylee about a day to warm up to all the new faces but then she was happy being around everyone. It was nice to get away from the cold weather in PA. I don't think it got over 65 degrees the whole time we where there. Some highlights from our trip:

• Mary's treats: Hello dolly's, sandies, and chocolate balls, yum!!!
• Sheri's butterscotch chex mix
• Mom's chex mix and sugar cookies
• Visiting all our favorite restaurants: PeiWei, In N Out, Chipolte, Portillos, Sprinkles, Juice it Up
• Golfing (well, the boys)
• Shopping
• Hot tubbing
• games (especially our new favorite Ticket to Ride)
• visiting the Newport Beach temple
• taking Kylee to the beach for the first time
• catching up with old friends
• taking Kylee to the park

Happy New Year!!!

Seven months old

On December 21st Kylee turned seven months old! I can't believe how fast time is flying. Here are some highlights of Kylee this month:

• she will tummy scoot across the entire living room
• she rocks back and forth on all fours (she will only crawl a few steps)
• she loves playing patty cake with mom or dad
• says, "dadada"(she doesn't know what it means yet)
• she loves to eat rice cereal, oatmeal and fruits and vegies
• she loves drinking water from her sippy cup and also chewing on it
• she loves giving kisses to us and her doll and bear
• she loves sitting up while playing with her bucket of toys
• she has her four bottom teeth
• she was sleeping from 6pm to 7am but we are now adjusting back to east coast time and are all way off...
• she loves bath time and gets excited when she hears the water running
• she loves bouncing in your lap
