Packing, saying goodbye, and day 1 & 2

At the end of July Aunt Lacey came to visit us for the last time for a while.  Austin and Kylee really love her so much and we always have a fun time.  We will miss you!!

We went out to dinner with our friends the Robertson's at Mama D's in Huntington Beach.  It was yummy Italian and VERY kid friendly!  They could tell our kids were having a hard time.. aka they were all terrible, throwing fits and out of control... so they brought out a toy chest for the kids to each pick a toy.  Plus all the kids meals were free and they even brought out a few plates of mini chocolate chip cookies for the kids to eat.  I would recommend it :)

Ruby and Kylee

Kylee's good friend Sawyer came by to say goodbye.

Here is the trio from nursery, Kylee, Sawyer and Parker.

Let the packing begin!!!  Empty truck and happy campers.

At the end of the day we almost filled out 26 ft moving truck.  They were exhausted!  We were lucky to have such an awesome ward and so much help.

Our first day we drove to St George, UT and stayed with our brother and sister in law, Scott and Mary. Kylee and Austin loved playing with their cousins.
Tyler (2), Austin (1), Ethan (9mo), Kylee (3) and Travis (5)

The next day we drove all the way to Loveland, CO.  It was a long day but we tried to stop enough for the kids to get out and stretch.  Here is Austin and Kylee at a McDonalds play area somewhere in CO.

When we arrived in Loveland we got to say with our good friends the Neville's that we originally met in CA before any of us had kids.  They are awesome and it was so fun catching up.  Eva and Kylee had a blast playing together.

One of the precious moments Kylee was sleeping on the trip.  For some reason I thought she would have slept a lot more than she did.  I guess she was just so excited and didn't want to miss out on any fun!

Austin asked me to take his picture too.  He is pretending to be asleep :)

You're moving where???

IOWA!!!!  As many of you know Jeremy has decided to go back to school to get his MBA (masters in business administration) and MHA (masters in health care administration).  After contemplating many schools and options we decided that the University of Iowa would be the best fit for Jeremy and our family.  I will try to keep our blog updated with all of our exciting new adventures!  Go Hawkeyes!!

Happy 4th of July!

With traffic being as crazy as it is around here on the 4th we stayed home and had a bbq and played games.  Then we went to see fireworks at our favorite place in Yorba Linda.  We love that we know everyone there from church and the community. They play music and have games.  Austin wouldn't sit still and didn't make it in the family pic.

We saw fireworks with our good friends and neighbors the Haseks.  Parker and Kylee had a blast being silly.

Staying busy before the show!

July 5th we took our first trip to the Santa Monica pier.  We played games and rode the ferris wheel.  The kids had a great time.

The kids first taste of cotton candy.  They weren't sure at first but then loved it!  I normally wouldn't let them eat this sticky, sugary treat but I thought they needed to try it once!

Kylee loved riding rides with Daddy

Cousins!  Christie and Me.  Love you!

Cambria and Ryan rode the crazy rides!!

Games, games, games!

After the day the kids were exhausted and didn't even make it to the car. Love these guys.

That afternoon we drove back to Aunt Kiley's house and swam ate and played more!!  I love when all of my family gets together!

Kylee enjoyed eating homemade ice cream and playing with her second cousins.

Kylee's 1st Swim Lessons!

In August Kylee started swim lessons for the first time at Kramer middle school in Placentia.   She was really excited that her best friend Ruby was going to be in her class with her.  The first day she got into the pool with out crying, but as soon as her teacher splashed her face with water, the screaming began.  She didn't stop crying/screaming the entire lesson.  She went back the next week kicking and screaming!  I wasn't sure what to do and if I should continue torturing her.  Then on Friday, she just stopped crying!  It was like something changed and suddenly it wasn't scary.  I was so happy!!  Now she LOVES swim lessons!  Here are some pics of here two weeks in the pool.

She should be blowing bubbles but doesn't want to get her face in the water :)

Daddy even came to watch a few times!!!

The second week she started getting her hair wet!  She was supposed to jump off the mat, instead she takes the girl out next to her with her knee.  Sorry!

Peek a boo!  Practicing "bobs".

Floating on her back

Blowing bubbles under the water!

Michelle was her favorite teacher!

Kylee loved riding the "magic carpet".

The last day!!  She can't swim by herself yet but she does have a lot more confidence in the water and isn't afraid to be splashed!  She learned how to blow bubbles, do bobs, kick on a kick board and float on her back.  Can't wait to do it again!
