Ellis Island and Statue of Liberty

This past weekend we headed out for another adventure to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. It was such a beautiful day, perfect for site seeing and a ton of walking. We parked at Liberty State Park in NJ and took the fairy over to Ellis Island. Here is a pic of Jeremy with NYC in the background.

Look at the cheap prices!

This was a word tree that listed words we use in the US and what country they came from. Here is a close up pic so you can see some of the words.

The Statue of Liberty!!!

Kylee was such a trooper. She sat in her stroller most of the time and even slept!

We took another fairy over to Liberty Island. There is Lady Liberty!

Jeremy hiked all the way up to the crown!! It was 21 flights up a narrow, spiral starecase. I only made it to the base of the statue where the museum was. Honestly my back and feet were killing me and I didn't want to put myself in pre-term labor. Good thing he took some pics of his view.

View from the top!

This is the original torch!

This was as close as I got to the crown :)

To finish off our day we headed to Hoboken, NJ to get lunch at our favorite little Cuban restaurant, La Isla. Their Cuban sandwiches are amazing!!! But the restaurant is a little whole in the wall and not really kid friendly, so we got our sandwiches to go and got a table at Johnny Rockets. A little ghetto to bring our own food, but we did order a kids meal for Kylee, a chocolate shake and some fries. That's not so bad, is it?

After lunch everyone was satisfied :)

my two favorite people!

Jeremy had aranged some friends to come over later that night for cake and ice-cream to celebrate my birthday. We didn't end up getting home until right before the party started and we were all exhausted so I don't look really great, but it was fun to visit with our friends. Jeremy made me a chocolate oreo cake with mint ice-cream! It was deliscious! Thanks Jeremy for planning such an amazing day!!! I had so much fun and will remember this b-day forever!!! I love you :)

Quick visit to CA!

My parents flew me and Kylee out to CA to visit them for a quick surprise birthday trip!! We had so much fun hanging out with family, going to the beach, shopping, eating out and swimming. There wasn't much time to visit any friends and I'm sorry about that, but hopefully I can visit everyone next time. Kylee did great on the plane ride. She is easier to entertain now. I bought new Elmo books, stickers, and other random new toys that kept her attention. She loved saying "hi" to all the passengers.

Fun at the beach! Sand everywhere!!!!

Kylee and Uncle Reed

Kylee loved playing in the backyard and smelling the flowers with Grandpa.

She also loved the hot tub. I'm pretty sure she went in every night! Luckily it cooled down enough at night to enjoy it.

Kylee and Aunt Lacey playing at the park. Kylee had a lot of fun even though she looks mellow.

She loved playing Grandma's piano.

Me, my beautiful cousin Christie, and Kylee. Christie is off to ASU this fall for school. I know she will have so much fun!
Kylee and Grandma at Aunt Lisa's house. Kylee loved their dog Coco. She chased her around the backyard all afternoon. Great entertainment.

We got to see my brother and sister in law Scott and Mary and their boys Tyler and Travis. Kylee had so much fun playing with her cousins.

Kylee loved seeing Grandma Murdock. She would sit in her lap and let her read her books. We sure miss not having Grandparents close!

Travis and Kylee having a fun time watch cartoons.

Kylee loved it when Travis would push her on this train. It was so cute!

Here are some video's from the trip. I hope they turn out!

Happy 4th of July!!!

We took advantage of the warm weather this weekend and spent a lot of time swimming at the pool. Here is Kylee getting ready to go!

Kylee and Maylee ran around the baseball field the whole time waiting for fireworks to start. Kylee could have cared less about the fireworks, but Jeremy and I enjoyed the show.

Our friends Amos, Julie and soon to be baby girl!! Julie's due date was July 3rd. Hopefully she comes soon!!! Love Kylee's pose here... lol.

Kylee last year on the 4th of July when she was 6 weeks old.

Thanksgiving in July?

We have had a turkey in our freezer since last November and it has been taking up WAY too much room. Jeremy suggested we cook it and kick off our 4th of July weekend with a turkey dinner. I was nervous to cook a turkey because I have never been on that committee. Luckily, with the help of my friend Nikki we were able to get the job done. She took out the neck/guts and I put it in the oven. We are quite a team :) I could NEVER cook one by myself. Raw turkey grosses me out!!!! Here is the whole gang ready to eat. The beautiful golden turkey....

I even attempted my first homemade apple pie. It was yummy! Kylee and Maylee getting ready for dinner.Later that weekend we had our first family outing to Taco Bell. If you can believe it there aren't too many of them out here. For some reason Jeremy and I were craving crunchy tacos (well I guess it was mostly me). We gave Kylee a quesadilla and she loved it! Don't worry, we won't be going here too often ;) A worker gave Kylee a balloon and she loved playing with it. It allowed Jeremy and I to eat our dinner in peace :)

After Taco Bell we headed to our favorite homemade ice cream place, The Cup. Here is a picture of Kylee and Maylee playing in the grass. It looks like Kylee just pushed Maylee over but they were rolling around in the grass together, I just missed the shot.

The last part of our pre-holiday weekend, some friends of mine all went to see Eclipse! It was nice to get out without the babies, except for Lincoln. He is such a sweet heart!!
